The EBRD and the EU have announced ten Ukrainian companies as winners of the third wave of the Climate Innovation Vouchers grant program.
Under this program, the companies will receive grants totaling €442,000 for innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and combat climate change.
The grants will cover up to 75% of the costs of developing and implementing technologies throughout the business cycle, from prototyping and certification to the development of new production lines.
10 Ukrainian companies:
MICROL helps businesses manage their energy and water consumption using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, thereby minimizing losses and contributing to savings.
MAYTEK PLUS helps the hospitality sector to become energy efficient through smart heating management systems.
Prodekologiya, a research and production company, will receive AI-based software for its automatic sorting lines, which will increase the recycling rate of polymers and electronic waste by up to 90% and use half as much energy.
Hajster – helps to reduce CO₂ emissions in heating systems by switching to heat pumps made in Ukraine, where the Climate Voucher will be used to create software for climate controllers.
RMC Manufacturer Company – instead of the usual refrigeration units based on aggressive CFCs, it creates climate-friendly new generation refrigeration units with carbon dioxide-based refrigerant.
One Innovation Water Technologies offer an alternative to disposable water purification cartridges in a reverse osmosis system through the freezing process.
Luaz Motors – combines electric vehicles and accessibility systems for drivers with disabilities.
Agrosolum offers rapid scaling of precision field processing using UAVs to replace traditional wheeled spraying and fertilization systems.
ELEEK – develops new models of electric bicycles and plans to bring them to the international market.
K.tex produces medical, construction and industrial nonwovens, develops the production of nonwovens from recycled fibers (textile waste) and creates a digital platform for cooperation with clothing manufacturers and raw material suppliers.
About the Climate Innovation Vouchers grant scheme
The Climate Innovation Vouchers grant competition is part of the EBRD’s Climate Change Finance and Technology Transfer Center (FINTECC) program, supported by the EU under the EU4CLIMATE initiative. It has been implemented in Ukraine since 2017 by the NGO Grinkubator.
“Climate Innovation Vouchers is one of the largest grant competitions in Ukraine for innovators in the field of green and climate-friendly technologies. Ukraine was the first country in the EBRD region to launch the Innovation Vouchers program.
The competition supports Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and prevent climate change. Grants of up to 50 thousand euros cover 75% of the costs of the services applied for.
Companies can use the voucher to develop and implement green innovations at various stages of their business – from intellectual property protection and industrial prototype design to product certification and design of their production facilities.
