Russia’s attack on March 22, 2024, using 151 long-range weapons, is second only to the massive shelling on December 29, 2023.
Last night, on March 22, the enemy used 88 missiles of various types and 63 Shahed-136 aircraft, a total of 151 weapons, for a long-range combined attack on Ukraine. This makes it one of the most massive attacks since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
According to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the enemy launched and managed to shoot down the aircraft:
- 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 krylatykh missiles, 35 were shot down.
- 22 anti-aircraft missiles of S-300/400 complexes to strike ground targets, shot down 0
- 12 ballistic missiles from the Iskander-M air defense system, shot down 0
- 7 “hypersonic” X-47 “Dagger”, shot down 0
- 5 high-speed X-22s, 0 downed
- 2 X-59 guided missiles shot down
- 63 Shahed-136, knocked down 55
In addition to the ground component, the attack involved 13 T-95MS strategic bombers, five Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, ten MiG-31Ks, and two Su-34 or Su-30s. In total, the March 22, 2024 attack is currently the second most powerful in terms of the number of assets since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. It surpassed the attack on November 15, 2022, when Russia fired 96 missiles of various types and 12 Shaheds.
At the same time, there was a statement that Russia is in a state of war. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with
“We are in a state of war. Yes, it started as a special military operation, but as soon as this company was formed there, when the collective West became involved on the side of Ukraine, it became a war for us. I am convinced of this. And everyone should understand this for their internal mobilization,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
