Mykolaichuk Open Film Festival announces a $2000 prize for feature shorts

The Mykolaichuk Open Film Festival and Amo Pictures are launching a pitch for short films – the best project will receive $2000 for production.

It can be a feature film of any genre, but the duration should not exceed 25 minutes. The project should be completed by March 2025, and the Ukrainian premiere of the film should take place at the 4th Mykolaychuk Open festival. Another requirement is that the director must be a filmmaker who has made no more than two full-length films.

In addition, participants must collect a package of documents: an excerpt from the script or a full script; resumes and photos of the project participants; a summary budget of the film; an indicative shooting plan, as well as footage from the film or a teaser if available.

You can apply for participation here. The deadline is May 23. The results will be announced on May 31. After that, on June 21, a pitching will take place at the Ivan Mykolaychuk Cinema and Culture Center in Chernivtsi, where the best project will be selected.

We remind you that the 3rd Mykolaychuk Open festival will take place from June 15 to 23 with the support of the Chernivtsi City Council. The film festival was launched in 2022, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
