Oksana Liniv to enchant the Teatro Comunale opera house in Bologna. The Ukrainian woman took away the proposition for three years. The Guardian tells about it.
“I didn’t even realize that I would become the first female conductor in the Italian opera. It is a great honor for me to be a part of this historical turning point,” says Liniv.
Oksana Liniv is the founder and artist of the LvivMozArt festival, as well as the head conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine/YsOU. At once, she is working as the head director of the opera in Graz, Austria.
In the fall of 2020 rock in Berlin, a Ukrainian woman won the “Oper!Awards” in the category “Best conductor of 2020 rock”. Last year, Oksana Liniv became the first woman-director for all 145 years in the history of the Bayreuth Opera Festival, as a wake-up call.
