Andriy Danylko, known as Verka Serdyuchka, presented a unique lot at the world’s most famous auction, “Sotheby’s” — a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, which Freddie Mercury drove until the last days of his life.
Already on November 5 in London, the car will become the artist’s personal contribution to the creation of a modern rehabilitation and prosthetics center and the central lot at the most grandiose Sotheby’s auction in history.
According to Andrii Danylko, he once bought this iconic car to present it to the Queen museum or to make it part of a large exhibition in Ukraine. But now, in a difficult time for us, I decided that the silver Rolls-Royce would be an investment in the future of the country.
It is worth noting that the auction house does not take its percentage, as it usually happens, and transfers all 100% to a charitable purpose – free assistance in Ukraine according to the latest medical standards for adults and children affected by the war.
The artist intends to donate the entire amount from the sale of the legendary car to the construction of a rehabilitation center in Ukraine. The first modern rehabilitation center in Ukraine, Superhumans, will start operating in early 2023. For the construction, the Superhumans team attracts the support of benefactors from all over the world.
The project has already been supported by Sting and his wife Trudy, British businessman Richard Branson, First Lady Olena Zelenska, American actor Liev Schreiber, and from now on, the new ambassador Andriy Danylko.
