Every year in June, Odessa hosts the international festival Odessa Classics for fans of classical music. The festival is one of the symbols of the city. Unfortunately, due to the full-scale invasion, the festival will not take place in Odessa this year, but will start on a smaller scale from May 31 to June 4 in Estonia – in Tallinn, Tartu and the Arvo Pärt Center in Laulasmaa.

It is very important for us that the tradition of the festival is not interrupted, – says the president of Odessa Classics Alexei Botvinov. – And we use every opportunity on the European stages to talk about Russia’s aggression against the state and people of Ukraine. We are working with our partners on the continuation of Odessa Classics this summer in other European locations, we hope to announce such news in the near future.
The festival starts on May 31 at the Estonian Concert Hall in Tallinn with the participation of world-famous British violinist Daniel Hope, Alexei Botvinov and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Olari Elts. On June 1, the International Children’s Day, brothers Roman and Oleksandr Fedyurka will perform at the Tallinn Song Festival as part of a charity concert. On June 2, Michael Guttman and cellist Jing Zhao, as well as Alexei Botvinov will give a concert at the Arvo Pärt Center, named after the world-famous composer. On June 3, the festival will move to Tartu with Oleksiy Botvinov and Hans Christian Aavik, a talented Estonian violinist and winner of the recent Karl Nielsen competition.
