Thus, on November 12, a bilateral meeting between Ukraine and the European Commission on the section on statistics was held in Luxembourg. The meeting was held as part of the official screening of Ukrainian legislation for compliance with EU law. This is the final section in the block of issues included in the first Cluster “Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process”, which is key to the entire negotiation process.
“We expect that the European Commission’s report will allow us to open the first cluster as soon as possible in 2025,” said Olha Stefanishyna, Vice Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine.
It is noted that statistics is included in the cluster of fundamental foundations, as this industry, which covers all areas of economic and social life, should provide sets of reliable data that will further affect not only the macroeconomic state of the state but also the living conditions of citizens.
Next week in Brussels, bilateral meetings in the second negotiation cluster, Internal Market, will begin, focusing on free movement of goods, freedom of movement of workers, entrepreneurship and services, competition policy, corporate law, etc.
