Since July 2023, the Ukrainian Brave1 Defense Technology Cluster has issued 394 grants worth ₴420.3 million to Ukrainian Defense Tech developers. The platform currently has more than 1,400 private Defense Tech solution manufacturers registered on the platform, who have registered more than 3,100 developments in Brave1. Participants in the defense innovation support program include entities of various sizes and legal status: individuals, individual entrepreneurs, and mature companies.
The key profiles of the participants are the production of UAVs, ground robotic systems, and electronic warfare systems. These are the areas most needed by the military and where there are opportunities for the widest possible involvement of developers in the production process.
In addition to providing grant support, the cluster also helps to attract investment in its members’ projects. In particular, this year Brave1 helped attract more than $25 million in investment in Ukrainian Defense Tech. This is 400% more than last year. The investment figure is expected to exceed $50 million by the end of the year. Grants of ₴4 million and ₴8 million are currently available to developers. The project has ambitious plans: in 2024, the state budget provides UAH 1.5 billion to support new military technologies. Brave1 also stimulates international cooperation by attracting foreign investors and technology partners to Ukraine.
