The Ukrainian bookstore Readellion has won the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2024 award in the Interior Architecture section, ArchDaily reports.
The bookstore was opened in September 2023. The bookstore team worked on the design together with the prototype architectural bureau.
The space is designed in such a way that it can be easily reorganized. There is a suspended island in the middle: during business hours, it serves as a place to showcase new products and can be raised to the ceiling for meetings or presentations.
“The main thing for us in the space is functionality, flexibility and modularity. In this respect, we perfectly matched with Prototype, because their approach to work is based on the concept of “microrationality”. We are constantly changing and growing, shifting products, planning to create more merchandise and objects, which means that the space for presenting our ideas and products should adapt to these changes.”
